Cruising is a wonderful way to see the world, especially the Mediterranean. With the Med being a short stint from the UK, it is fast becoming a popular cruise destination.
There are many destinations to choose in the Mediterranean, choose from Italy, Greece, Spain, Portugal, Turkey and more. This can prove a head scratching choice. Why not combine the destination’s, that’s the beauty of a cruise holiday.
A sample of a particularly popular cruise takes in Italy, Greece and Turkey, starting off in the portal city of Civitavecchia easily accessible from the city of Rome, about 1 hour’s drive, then taking in one of the world’s most impressive and active volcanoes, Mount Etna, then en-route to Greece where the crystal clear water’s of Patmos can be visited and then onto Mykonos, one of the most popular and picturesque Greek islands.
After visiting the Greek islands it’s over to Turkey, Izmir to be exact, where one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, Ephesus is located. After the short stop in Turkey it’s back to Greece to visit Santorini with its mixture of cliffside villages and ancient treasures.
Then after all the beauty of the Greek Islands and Turkey, it’s back to the Mediterranean seas en-route back to port in Civitavecchia, Italy.
The beauty of this cruise is that you can have a 7 night cruise but arrange your own flight’s and perhaps spend a couple of days in the beautiful city of Rome before or after the cruise.
